I recall William Gibson (the guy who wrote Neuromancer, amongst other things) in an interview talking about how there used to be an enormous amount of body language and mannerisms that went with the way that people moved and held and fidgeted with all the devices that went with smoking, and that that this had switched to the ways they handled and moved and fidgeted with their mobile phones.

    Since I have been wearing glasses – about eight years now – I have started doing this with my glasses. People have been doing this since glasses were invented. And, well, I like this.
